WIDOW AND CHILD GET DAMAGES

MAN WHO LOST LIFE ON A VESSEL (P.A.) Invercargill, May 26. A sum of £2500 damages was awarded by a jury to-night in the action in which the Public Trustee, as executor and trustee of the estate of Kenny Lauchlan McKenzie, claimed £3OOO general damages and £25 18s funeral expenses from the New Zealand Shipping Company Ltd., and John Mill and Company. Ltd. Mr. T. A. Gresson (Christchurch) appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. A. N. Haggitt (Dunedin) for both defendants.
