Miss Dorothy Turner, who has been visiting Palmerston Norin and th? Wairarapa, has returned to Wanganui. Mr. Robert Broadhead, Victoria Avenue, with her small son, is on a holiday visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Turner, who has been visiting Castlec.liff, have returned to Palmerston North. Mrs. N. R. Bain was re-elected president of the Wanganui branch of the Victoria League, at the annual meeting, held yesterday, and Miss K. Armstrong was re-elected secretarytreasurer. At the annual meeting of the Victoria League, reference was made to the death of two members, Mrs. A. J. Crawford and Mrs. G. Harper, and sympathy expressed to the relatives, also to other members who have suffered bereavement during the year. Quoting from an airgraph letter received this week from Nutford Club, London, Mrs. N. R.. Bain read, at the annual meeting of the Victoria League yesterday, a message from the warden Miss McCallen, as follows: “I cannot tell you how interesting and enjoyable it is to work here, the men are so appreciative and friendly. I find the men from New Zealand have so much in common with us, and how they love flowers and scenery. To-day we have some nice New Zealand cadets in, and it was such a pleasure to meet some New Zealand girls, too.”
