DENTAL AND MEDICAL SUPPLY CO. The annual report of the Dental an< Medical Supply Co., Ltd., for the year ended March 31 shows a net profit of £13.700. compared with £14,461 last year. After providing £10,090 for taxation and £2899 for the dividend of 5 per cent., already announced. there is a balance to carry forward of £1751 againnt. £941 brought in. The report states that stocks on hand show a substantial increase on those of the past two years, which must be regarded bp satisfactory under present conditions. The retiring director, Mr. E. E. Allieon, offers himself for re-election. DONAGHY’S ROPE PROFIT. The accounts of Dbnaghy’s Rope and Twine Co., Ltd., for the year ended March 31 show a net profit of £13,254, compared with £11,431 in the previous year and £10,828 in 1942. There is £16,939 available. As already announced, the directors recommend a final dividend of Is 3d a share, taking £7812, and making 2s for the year (unchanged). The carry-forward is £9126, against £'<372 brought in. The report says that sales of rope constituted a record, due to continued requirements of the Allied forces. Supplies of raw material generally had been ample. Principal changes in th balance-sheet are an increase in stocks from £110,332 to £116,006, a decrease in book debts from £42,099 to £36,293. and a rise in war loans and investments from £18,638 to £21,513. WINE PROFITS SOAR. Net profit of Caldwell’s Winefl. Ltd. (N.S.W.), at £16,515 for 1943 is the company’s highest to date, and compares with £730.'. for 1942. It is reached after providing £25,900 for taxation, against £7500 for 1942 and £2875 for depreciation, against £914. Ordinary dividend is increased from 2| per cent, to 5 per cent., the best since 1928, COAL COMPANY DIVIDENDS. 7716 directors of the Westport Coal Company. Ltd., have declared an interim dividend of 6d a share, payable on May 17. 'Die accounts of the Kaitangata Coal Company (Dunedin) for the year ended February 29 show a net profit of £4873, against £6386 in the previous year and £7989 in 1942. A dividend of lo 6d a share is proposed, against 2s last year.
