MARTON HOSPITAL SITE

RECOMMENDATION ADOPTED The Wilson site had been selected for the ntw hospital in Marton because of ’advantages of access, outlook and iiS .suitability for future extensions, if required, stated a letter received from the Department of Health at the monthly meeting of the Wanganui Hospital Board yesterday. The site, donated to the board by the Misses Wilson, was one of two inspected recently by Mr. D. Blair, the department’s technical adviser, who recommended that the offer be accepted. It consists of four acres and is located off Rina Street, between the town and Marton Junction. Tke recommendation was adopted by the board and the type of building to be erected will be decided by the department. Provision for the new hospital has also been made by the board. £25.000, to be raised by loan, having been placed on the estimates for the current financial year.
