HUNTERVILLE SALE SHEEP AND CATTLE SELL FREELY The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd. report on their first sale for the year at Hunterville, when 700 sheep, mostly lambs, and 30 head of cattle came forward. In spite of dry weather conditions prevailing, the sale was quite a good one, all the sheep selling freely. There was also good competition on the various lines of cattle submitted, and we report a total clearance as follows: Best w.f. wether lambs 15s to 15s Id; medium ditto 9s 3d to 10s; smaller sorts to 7s 7d; medium to small b.f. lambs 10s lOd, medium ewe lambs 14s lOd; forward 4-th wethers 225; medium 2-th wethers 18s; medium 2-th ewes 20s to 225; smaller sorts to 18s; small b.f. 2-th 16s; fat ewes 10s to Ils; 20-months steers £6 Ils, £6 17s to £7 Is; 2 i -year steers £8 10s; forward cows ex dairy £3 10s to £4 10s; weaner pigs 21s. value's TTfeilding (P.A.) Feilding, Jan. 14. Considering that the dry spell continues, prices for all stock at the sale to-day were accepted as satisfactory. A fair entry of fat sheep sold readily at slightly easier prices, and for store hoggets there was quite a good market. Fat cattle sold at firm prices. No ox beef was offered. No run cattle were penned, as no interest was shown pending a break in the weather. Range of prices of the sale: Fat lambs, to 24s 4d; b.f. lambs, woolly to 27s Id; shorn to 25s Id. Fat wethers to 24s 7d; fat maiden ewes 16s lOd; fat ewes to 13s fid. Stores: Wether lambs, white faces, to 18s; black faces to 17s 8d; two-tooth wethers to 19s 4d; f. anu f. wethers 21s lOd; two-tooth ewes 19s. Fat Cattle: P.A. heifers £ll 12s 63; Hereford cows to £9 12s 6d. Dairy cows to £8 Bs.
