PRACTICE BOMBING

FISHERMEN KILLED Recd. 6 p.m. Perth, Jan. 5. A bomb dropped from an Allied service plane on practice manoeuvres exploded in the sea near a fishing boat on Monday night, killing two men and injuring a third. Another bomb wrecked part of a beach house which a few minutes before had been occupied by a woman and two boys. The area is occasionally used for bombing practice. The occupants of the house heard planes approaching after the men in the boat had been hit, and ran into the bush. When they returned they found one wall of the house had been blown in.
