ENTERTAINING REVUE
MJSS EVA MATTHEWS’ PUPILS. A successful song and dance revue staged by Miss Eva Matthews was presented to a large audience at the Wanganui Opera house on Wednes> day night. The programme was varied and entertaining, with several bright angd colourful ballets. Mrs. Clare Senior-Partridge was outstanding in her song in the Scottish scene and Kona Wilson was also popular. A tap item, "Militaire,’’ by Shirley Richards, further taps by Beverley Richards, and items by Audrey Geoffie, Pat Healey, and Ngaire Ruscoe, Celestine Crumbley, and Mary Duigan were also well received. A tango was presented by Ada and Therese Griffen, a skipping number by Dawn Taylor, and "Ave Maria’’ with chorus by Lola Bosher. Other contributing entertainers included June Hayhow, Betty Morrison, Iris Henderson, Noeline Mitchell, Colleen Hawkins, Ann Hardman, Kathleen Burke, Joan Waugh, Jeanne and Yvonne Lefevre, Shirley Mitchell, Pat Healey, Ngaire Ruscoe, Valerie Chandler, Peggy Godfrey, Natalie Sherman, Qlynice Walker, and Ernest McClintock. The Wanganui Highland Pipe Band also played several items. Music for the items was supplied by Mesdames J. P. Lennon and H. J. Trussell and national dances were arranged by Iris Henderson. The proceeds of the concert go to th Home of Compassion. To provide financial assistance for the Wanganui Highland Pipe Band, Miss Matthews intends restaging portion of the performance in Marton next month..
