ARMISTICE DAY PARADE

N.Z. NURSES IN NOUMEA New Caledonia. Nov. 14. New Zealand nurses took part along with Allied troops in Noumea's Armistice Day parade, during which flowers were laid on tne war memorial. The parade was preceded by a service at the Cathedral, Mass being celebrated for French soldiers anti liberation patriots. New Caledonians liave subscribed liberally to a fund to help the patriots, and this fund was increased some f 220 by a garden party and ball being held during the afternoon and evening at Government House. Sums collected between September 20 (the opening date! and November 11 amount to several thousand pounds. Tne afternoon's radio programme included one minute's silence in memory of the dead, and the sesMon included a talk by a British ofUfcr who described a meeting with a French shepherd one Armistice Day many years back.
