CENTRAL SWIMMING CLUB

RECENT COMPETITION NIGHT Mild weather and smooth water favoured the Central Swimming Club when a competition night was held on Wednesday. Some races were keenly contested, particularly among the junior grades. Training is in progress for the forthcoming New Zealand championships and it is probable that T. Dalton will challenge M. M. Dixon’s diving title. The result is being watched for with interest. Wednesday night’s results were: — Beginners’ face (across baths): J. Anderson 1, C. Clare. Junior girls’ 25 yards: V. Dixon 1, V. Clare 2. Junior boys’ 25 yards: W. Heath 1, W. Mailman 2. Intermediate girls' 50 yards: M. Dixon 1, A. Clare 2. Intermediate boys’ 50 yards: R. Hylton 1, R Head 2. Junior backstroke, 25 yards: V. Clare 1, B. Dixon 2. Senior backstroke, 50 yards: M. Dixon 1. Dual relay: L. Hylton and V. Clare 1, M. and B. Dixon 2. Junior girls’ dive: V. Clare 1. B. Dixon 2. Junior boys’ dive: D. Galvin 1, F. White 2. Intermediate senior women's dive (open): M. Dixon 1, O. Kendall 2. ARAMOHO club Ideal weather conditions prevailed for the opening night events of the Aramoho Swimming Club on Wednesday.
