TARGETS IN NORWAY
BOMBED BY U.S. PLANES
Recd. 9 p.m. London, Nov. 16. United States Army Air Force heavy bombers Irased In Britain today 'attacked targets in Norway—a mine and a power station. It is reported that both attacks were successful. They were carried out by large formations of Fortress and Liberators.
The bombers, which were unescorted, destroyed six enemy aircraft. Two of the bombers were lost The targets in Norway were a power station at Rjukan and the MoJybenum mines at Knben. R.A.F. Mosquitoes attacked targets in western Geimanv last night. We lost two bombers and a fighter out on offensive | atrol.’ Typhoons to-day attacked targets in northern France. They returned without Cne target was near Biest, and the ether was enemy shipping near Ln Havre. A New Zealand Typhoon fighter squadron led by Wing-Commander J. Scott (N.Z.) this afternoon attacked ships near Le Havre. An armed coaster was left in flames and sinking and a second vessel on fire with the superstructure shot away. Wing-Comma.irfer Scott said: "We sh— them up from mast height. Some pilots saw Germans jumping over the ‘ side.” Typhoon fighter-bombers. diving through a gap in the clouds, this morning attacked seaplane hangars neaf Brest. The leader saw bombs score direct hits on hangars and buildings nearby. Mosquitoes bombed a spirit plant near St. Nazaire.
