SUICIDE ORDER
LUFTWAFFE NIGHT-FIGHEERS. New York, Nov. 15. Luftwaffe night-fighters have been given a “suicide order,” says the Stockholm correspondent, of the New York Times. They must ram the enemy if unable to get him otherwise. The correspondent adds that reliable sources in Sweden say that the German aircraft production in 1943 has been concentrated on defensive planes. The tendency is increasing to leave to fighters the protection of important, industrial centres, instead of depending on anti-aircraft guns. Germany’s difficulty now is to supply the thousands of pilots who are needed. The Luftwaffe schools, l?e- - shortage of fuel, turn out pilots with much shorter training. Germany’s air force has suffered the most losses, comparatively, of all the |Reich forces, and the gaps are befrig filled with ‘‘speed-trained men.”
