BATTLE IN LYONS

CLASH BETWEEN FRENCH AND GERMANS Recd. 8.30 p.m. London, Nov. 16. Nine French civilians were killed and over 50 wounded during an hour’s battle last night with German troops in the main square at Lyons, reports the Associated Press’ Berne correspondent. One German was killed and 12 wounded. The battle started when the Germans emerged from their special theatre and two delayed-action bombs exploded. The French simultaneously opened fire from windows of buildings nearby. The Germans subsequently used machine-guns.
