Mexico City. Nov. 15. An indication that Russia was deter, mined to annex the Polish territory received under the agreement between Germany and the Soviet after the Nazi invasion of Poland, was given by the Soviet Ambassador, Mr. Oumansky, in a speech. “Certain commentators calculate that the Russian forces beyond Kiev are at present only 145 kilometres from Russia’s western border,” said Mr. Oumansky. “I wish it were so, but we still have to retrieve 450 kilometres to reach the frontier with Poland. Onlv then will all the Soviet Ukraine be liberated from the Nazi yoke.” « The Mexico City correspondent of the New York Times says, that Polish quarters there explained that the territory 450 kilometres west of Kiev included thp Polish towns of Wilno, Grodno, and Lvov. Other diplomats said it was the first time that a Soviet official had nublicJv announced such a claim. Mr. Oumansky’s statement, coming shortly after the Moscow’ conference, undoubtedly was the result of instructions from the Kremlin.
