ITALIAN CHIEF Or STAFF Reed. 6 p.m. London, Nov. 14. It is officially announced that General Roatta, chief of staff of the Italian army, has been removed from his post. The Algiers correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain, reporting this, points out that Genera! Roatta’s removal is Ihp first tangible evidence that the Allied Command is calling on Marshal Badoglio to rid his army of former Fascist commanders who have been accused of infamous conduct. General Roatta is reported to be on the Yugoslav Government's list of war criminals who will be brought to trial after the war.
