EXPORT LAMB COMPETITION

Lambs entered in the district export competition conducted by tne Wanganui Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and judged at the abbreviated show on were Killed at Imlay Works yesterday, alter which judging on tne hooks was carried out oy sir. E. Hansen, grader for the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. First prize yesterday went to S. F. Besley (Waverley) lor a pen of three lambs placed fiftn on Saturday. The second prize went to J. V. Blyth for lambs which were not placed on Saturday, and the third nrize was awarded to Alex Macnab (Wanganui) loi lambs placed third on the showgrounds. A pen entered by the Scott estate (Makirikiri), placeci first on Saturday, was awarded 10th. place yesterday. Other placings (with those of Saturday in parentheses) are: Castlecliff Golf Club, 4; L. A. Kellick, Mangamahu, 5; Horrocks Bros.. Makirikiri (9) 6, and (10) 8; James Craig, Wangaehu, 7; Laird Bros., Hunterville, 9. A weight-guessing competition was won by Mr. A. M. Campbell, No. 1 Line, the weight of the two sheep when killed being 1711b5., compared with Mr. Campbell’s estimate oi’ 1703ibs. Four other competitors tied for second place, all being within lib. of the actual weight.
