ARMED FORCES PARCELS
ONE WEEK TO FILL QUOTA. With but a week left for the appeal for gift parcels for members of the Forces overseas, 590 parcels have been contributed and an additional 398 have been promised. This leaves 403 parcels still to make the Wanganui quota of 1386. Cash donations since Saturday last amount to £37 19s 6d and this is acknowledged by the Zone honorary secretary. In terms of cash £1614s is still required to complete the quota and maintain this zone’s reputation of having raised during the whole course of the war each succeeding quota of parcels by voluntary giving. It would be appreciated if the various women’s organisations whose parcels have not yet been handed in at the City Council office would do so as early as possible. This is necessary as the work of packing into the standard size boxes must proceed from day to day and consignments forwarded to the National Patriotic Fund Board Headquarters in Wellington.
