ENGLISH STALLIONS ARRIVE
The English stallions Finis and Neptune have arrived in New Zealand. Finis having gone to Mr. E. E. Steele’s Windsor Park Stud at Oamaru, and Neptune to Mr. ,T. G. Alexander’s Cranleigh Stud at Maxwell, Wanganui.
Finis is an upstanding bay horse by the Derby winner Cameronian from Felstead's dam Felkington. Finis ran 24 times in England for seven wins and £6228 in stakes. He was a good stayer and won the Gold Cup, 21 miles, run at Newmarket instead of Ascot because of the war.
Neptune is a bay horse by the Derby winner and successful sire Hyperion from Blue Peter’s dam Fancy Free. Neptune was sold for 200 guineas in England. He was placed on a number of occasions and won the Tranent Plate. Im. 3f., at Edinburgh.
