It is likely that these matches will be the last of the Memorial Shield games for the 1943 season. Coastal Cargoes. With almost a full load of general cargo from Southern ports, via Wellington, the coastal motor-ship Holmdale arrived at Wanganui at the week-end. The vessel discharged at the Town Wharf and loaded for south yesterday. She was to have sailed last night for Picton. In spite of her draught on arrival at Wanganui, the vessel was able to navigate the river and berth at the Town Wharf, indicating that the depth of water available at. Mitchell’s Reach, where trouble was experienced last year, has improved. The small coastal motor-ship Nikau, which was to have loaded cement for Wanganui at Tarakohe on Monday, was delayed by rain and is now expected at the Town Wharf this morning. After discharge she returns to Tarakohe.
