WAVE OF SABOTAGE

REPORTED IN FRANCE Recd. 11 p.m. London, Aug. 30. A rising wave of sabotage throughout France was reported yesterday by Vichy radio. "These outrages seem to many middle-class Frenchmen, Anglophiles and de Gaullists, to be a prelude to their liberation,” said the radio. Reports that crops were set on fire were received from all parts of France. The derailment of trains is becoming more frequent. Bands under Communist instigation are carrying out raids against isolated farms, even against store-houses in inhabited places. Murders in the streets in daylight, assaults against police stations and burglaries in town halls were also reported. Paris radio says 186 persons were arrested at Compeigne in connection with troubles about returning French prisoners.
