GOING TO WASHINGTON

HON. WALTER NASH TO RESUME MISSION IN U.S. (P.A.) Wellington, Aug. 25. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, stated to-day that if the Labour Government was returned he intended to request the Hon. Walter Nash to return to Washington to carry on the splendid work he has already done there for New Zealand. Mr. Nash had established a close personal friendship with President Roosevelt, Mr. Harry Hopkins, Mr. Paul Stettinius. Mr. Cordell Hull, Mr. Sumner Welles, Mr. Harry Stimson, Colonel Frank Knox and others in charge of the United States war effort, and was accepted as a friend in every part of the United States. Mr. Fraser added that Mr. Nash would retain his present Ministerial position and would returry to them when his mission to the United States was finished.
