BERLIN BLITZED

London, Aug. 14. R.A.F. bombers raided Berlin last night, it was the heaviest attack made on the German capital since the war started. Great fires broke out. Sixteen bombers are missing. The comparative lightness of the anti-aircraft fire surprised R.A.F. pilots, hut swarms of night-fighters were encountered. It is estimated that at least 1800 tons of bombs were dropped by the raiders. BN.
