M AITOTAKA. Miss Carrard, who has been relieving at the local post office, has returned to Wanganui. Mr J. B. Verran. of Dannevirke Post Office, has been transferred to the Waitotara office, and has commenced duties. I’ATEA Mrs. A. Ross, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. A. A. Carey. Mrs. W. Brown, of Wellington, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Gardiner. L.A.C. 1. Cowie was the guest of honour at a social given by Mr. A. Cowie. Speeches ol goodwill were given by Mrs. E. Oakley, Messrs. I. Harkness, K. Sharp, F. Crawford and S. Edwards. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Oakley, Lance-Bombardier G. Garrick was the guest of honour at an enjoyable evening. Best, wishes to their guest were expressed by Messrs. E. Oakley. K. Sharp, and N. Barklay •on behalf of the Mokoia platoon of the Home Guard). Earlier in the week, L. Bdr. Garrick was entertained at a public function held in the Town Hall, Morrinsville.
