HOME GUARD ACTIVITIES

SCHEDULE OF PARADES A Company of the Wanganui Battalion of the Home Guard will parade in its own area to-morrow for field training. Members who have not. completed their musketry will parade at the Aramoho rifle range. B Company do field training in their own area. C Company go to the Putiki rifle range for musketry training. Signallers parade at Wanganui East showgrounds. Officers meet at Thain’s Buildings on Monday at 7.20 p.m., n.c.o.’s at 7 p.m. to view two training films. Parades next week are: A Company on Tuesday and Thursday, B Company on Tuesday, C Company on Wednesday, mortars on Thursday, pioneers on Wednesday, petrol guards on Thursday, and the medical platoon on Tuesday. Gonville Battalion. All units of the Gonville Battalion will parade at their respective parade centres at 0900 hours to-morrow for a full day’s field exercise, transport and rations being provided. Officers and n.c.o.’s will meet at battalion headquarters, Ridgway Street at 1930 hours on Monday to view a screening of several military films, foremost of which will be “Hold Your Fire” and “Street Fighting.” On Tuesday, A and D Companies, Medical Platoon and Intelligence section will hold their usual parade at their training centres, and on Wednesday Signals and C Company will carry out their usual weekly parades.
