VICE-REGAL. The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady Newall, will leave Wellington to-day for Rotorua, where they will take part in the Te Arawa [centennial celebrations. Their Excel[lencies will return to Wellington on Monday of next week. The Rt. Hon. P. Feaser, Prime Minister, will leave Wellington for Rotorua by the Limited express to-night. Mr. Fraser, who also has engagements in Ngaruawahia and Auckland, will return to Wellington to-day week.
Mr. F. Davy, one of the oldest playing members of the Gonville Bowling Club, attained his 85th birthday recently. During the afternoon tea adjournment on Saturday, the president, Mr. P. Mailman, took the opportunity of congratulating Mr. Davy, and presented him with a memento of the occasion. All present expressed their best wishes to the guest of honour and after being accorded musical honours Mr. Davy suitably replied.
