Canberra, March 18. “I do not propose to hold inquiries as to what might or might not have happened in certain contingencies in the defence of Australia,” declared the Prime Minister. Mr. T. Curtin, in the House of Representatives to-day. A Labour member had direc'ed his attention to a reported interview with General MacArthur, in which it was stated that the defence plans befor n he 'took command in the Sou’h-west Pa/’ific had provided for organised resistance on a line drawn west ol Brisbane. Mr. Curtin’s replv was tantamount to a rebuke to the member, who asked whether the persons responsible for this plan were still associated wiih the admin ir "‘» ,r, lion of the army.
