“QUICK LORRY” SALE FOR PATRIOTIC “SHOP.” On Tuesday next at 2.30 p.m. the committee of the Bonny Glen-Feru Flats "shop” will hold a “quick lorry” sale in Broadway, Marlon. In addition to the usual contents of the parcels, there will be included farm mutton, home-made cakes, eggs and groceries and every parcel is worth at leas', five shillings. The “shop” will be held in the old auction mart on Tuesday, April 13. A.N.A. CLUB. Gifts of vegetables, butter and country produce are solicited lor the Army,'Navy and Air Force Club in Wellington, and collection day will be next Tuesday, March 23, when donations may be left at the Farmers' Distributing Co. Mrs. O'Leary, of Wellington, has written expressing her heartleJl thanks and appreciation to the residents of Marlon and district for then continued support. The Marton committee also wish to thank all who have so generously sent in gifts, HUNTERVILLE PATRIOTIC SPORTS.
The Hunterville patriotic sports under the auspices or tile Hunterville Spurts Club was a great success, tne total receipts being £205 Is 7d. Tne gate takings were £5l 13s 6d, sheep guessing £ll Ils lOd, luncheon and alltinoon teas £33 Ils sd, ice creams and soft drinks £22 17s bd, dance £» 13s 6a; entry fees £33, donations £4O 16s 6d, sundry receipts £2 17s 4d. The expenditure was £54 19s Bd, including prize money £27 IDs. The net prom of £l5O Is tld has been handed to the Hunterville and District Patriotic Purposes Committee. POREVVA-CLIFF LINE “SHOP.” The total receipts for the PorewaCliff Line “shop” on Tuesday last are £340 12s 3d, including a donation from Mrs. W F. Stevens. The raffles realised £42 6s and the competitions 10l L4s. BOWLING NOTES. Bulls Bowling Club will be represented in the pairs contest lor the Presidents’ Cup to-day at Marton, by K. Drew and F. The theme tells of an. interfering mother-in-law's visit to newly-weds in the country, and her encounters with one, Dr. Knott, played by Clapham. Chief supporting roles arc capably handled by Patricia Roc, Wylie Watson, Margaret Scudamore, Chili Bouchier, and Peggy Bryan, George Formby’s leading laay in “It's Turned Out Nice Again.” ADDRESSES IN GOSPEL HALL Mr. F.
