ENEMY SUPPLY SHIPS

TWO TORPEDOED R< T?' 6 pm : Rugby, March. 16. Ihe Admiralty announces that two large enemy supply ships were torpedoed early to-day in the North Sea by light coastal forces. The shias formed part of a convoy which was intercepted off Teschelling. Our forces pressed home attacks, despite a strong escort, and one large vesesl was torpedoed. The hit was followed by a heavy explosion and dense black smoke. Although the enemy’s gunfire was ranid and heavy, our forces succeeded in making a second attack, scoring a torpedo hit on another large supply ship Our forces suffered no casualties, and only one vessel received superficial damage.- 8.0.W.
