HIGHLY IMPROPER

ATTEMPT TO INTERVIEW MAGISTRATE Palmerston N., March 16. “If there is any more of this I will report to the Crown Law Office,” said Mr K. P. Lawry, S.M.. in the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court yesterday, in condemning the action of relatives of an accused person in attempting to interview him in connection with a case. Mr. Lawry said someone tried to see him at his house. .It was contempt of Court to try to see the presiding magistrate or Justice at any place, and doubly so at a place of residence. It was the second time this had happened during the week, and the father of a boy had also written him dealing with a charge against the boy. The Court Registrar had also reported that frequently people had tried to see him. “I feel strongly on this matter, and am compelled to ,ma’<e these observations,” stated Mr. Lawry.
