HATED FRENCH FASCIST
SHOTS FIRED AT DEAT Recd. 6 p.m. Rugby, March 11. A number of men, using automatic pistols, last night attacked Marcel Deat at his country estate, says the Paris radio. He and his wife were not hit but a member of his police escort was wounded. The telephone wires to the estate were cut. Deat was wounded by a bullet in August, 1941, and a bomb was thrown at him in March, 1942. He is the founder and leader of the Fascist People’s Party and the editor of the Paris newspaper I'Oeuvre.—B.O.W.
