VICE-REGAL. The Governor-General received Air Commodore S. F. Vincent yesterday morning. His Excellency later received Mr. W. Bankes Amery, of the British Government food mission. Mr. J. Saltinstall was re-elected president of the Tawhero Golf Club at the annual meeting on Saturday. This will be Mr. Staltinstall’s eighth successive term in office. Mr. A. Holroyd, a new member of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce executive, who was elected recently, was welcomed by the president. Mr. C. S. Jeffs, at a meeting last night. Mr. C. W. Earle was re-elected president of the New Zealand Newspaper Proprietors’ Association at the annual conference held in Wellington last week. Mr. H. P. F. Blundell was reelected treasurer.
