AUCKLAND GAS YEAR
Auckland, Feb. 17. A sharp fall in net profit which ia accounted for largely by the imposition of £8836 additional taxation after the 1941 accounts were closed, is shown in the accounts of the Auckland Gas Co., Ltd., for the year ended December 31. Net earnings are £11,109, compared with £23.362 in the previous year and £2lOOl in 1940. Net profit is reached after providing £B6 186 for taxation, against £63,548 in the previous year. The year’s dividend, which is 3 per cent., a fall of 1 per cent., absorbs £15,970, leaving £2147 to be carried forward, against £7009 brought in.
