PEOPLE OF BRITAIN
TRIBUTE BY MR. CASEY Rugby, Feb. 14. In a broadcast to-night, the Minister in the Middle East, ’Mr. R. G. Casey, said he had no doubt whatever about the spirit of Britain. The people were superbly organised for the war effort and sacrifice was evenly spread. Speaking of post-war problems he said the central idea on the economic side must be that no country could get an inch at the expense of the others, and international arrangements must be designed towards expanding world economy, in the fruits of which all would share. It was essential that the Allies should get together and agree on the genera! outline of how such matters might be arranged. Mr. Casey also warned against the dangers of enemy propaganda designed to drive a wedge between Britain and America and pleader for closer personal contact between the two peoples for better knowledge and understanding.—B.O.W.
