IN CENTRAL BURMA
JAPANESE AERODROME BOMBED (Recd. 6.30 p.m.) Rugby, Jan. 27. An India joint communique says that last night RA.F. bombers attacked an important Japanese aerodrome at Toungoo, in central Burma. Several tons of bombs were dropped on runways and dispersal are;|,s and a number of fires were started. Yesterday our aircraft, on an offensive patrol", damaged water transport on the Chindwin River and off the Arakan coast and bombed an enemy-occupied village in the Akyab area. None of our aircraft is missing.-- 8.0.W.
