DEATH OF A SOLDIER

MOTOR-CYCLE COLLIDES WITH GUN TR/\CTOR

(P.A.) Wellington, Jan. 26. A motor-cycle accident which resulted in the death of one soldier and injury to another occurred during manoeuvres in the Pahiatua area at about 10 a.m. to-day. As a gun tractor was passing over a hill and turning a corner, a motorcycle collided with the tractor. Lance-Bombardier William Bernard Ayl inc. aged 20. single, whose moth n r is Mrs. G. Ayling. Napier, was seriously injured and died in hospital about 90 minutes later. Gunner H. S. Graham, aged 21. whose mother is Mrs. M. Graham, Palmerston North, suffered a comnound fracture of a leg and was taken to hospital. It was reported that his condition was satisfactory.
