FORMER NEW ZEALANDER London, Jan. 4. Mr. J. R. Lockie, county clerk in Ayrshire since 1937, has received Ihe 0.8. E. in the second part of the New Year honours. Mr. Lockie was born in Napier and took the Bachelor of Laws degree at Victoria University, and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court ot New Zealand in 1925. He. was assistant city solicitor in Wellington before appointment as counts clerk in Ayrshire in 1935. He is also A.R.P. controller, food executive officer, national registration officer, and fuel overseer for Ayrshire and a member of the Scottish Housing Advisory Committee.
