BOMBERS OVER BRITAIN

(Recd. 9 p.m.) London, Jan. 2. Eight were killed when six Messerschmitts this afternoon swooped on a quiet south-west town and bombed the shopping centre. Shops were reduced to heaps of rubble. Rescue squads were still digging to-night for people trapped in the debris.
