WELLINGTON DRAW WITH SERVICES TEAM (P.A.) Wellington, Jan. 3. After a sparkling display of cricket in which fortune fluctuated most excitingly, the two days’ cricket match between a Combined Services team and a Wellington eleven concluded in a draw. In reply to Wellington’s first innings total of 193, the Services team scored 299 (Crawford 148). Wellington declared the second innings closed at 277 for eight (Browne 56, Dickinson 51, not out). Pritchard taking four for 91. Services had scored 124 for eight at the call of time (Dickinson four for 43, Ashenden three for 61).
