Hitler, in a New Year proclamation, declared: “Germany is determined to continue the war until a clear and definite solution is reached safeguarding the German people and their descendants from future wars. Our maximum effort will be made in 1943. The winter may be hard but will not hit us harder than last year. Tiiereafter, marshalling all our forces, we shall resume our march forward to assure our peoples’ future freedom and existence. It will be then that a power will collapse, and that Power certainly will not. be Germany.
