WORK OF PARTISANS

GREAT INJURY DONE TO NAZIS. London, Dec. 30. Stressing the efficiency and importance of the Soviet partisan movement, Moscow radio claims that in the last few months Ukrainian partisans have killed 46,755 Germans, destroyed 54 German headquarters, derailed 148 trains, wrecked 2656 railway wagons, blew up 1426 lorries and 400 railwaybridges, destroyed 13 planes, 8 ammunition dumps, and 200 tanks. One group alone killed and wounded 3500 Germans and destroyed 54 tanks, 15 armoured cars, and 46 lorries, and derailed six German military trains.

The radio added that the German High Command was throwing punitive detachments, regiments, and even whole divisions against the partisans, but the latter, encouraged by the news of the Red Army’s advance, were continuing to fight the invader and disorganise his rear.
