ESCAPE FROM FRANCE

BRITISH LAWYER EVADES GERMANS London, Dec. 30. A 58-year-old Britisher who was one of France’s leading lawyers and who speaks French so perfectly that even the German police did not suspect his nationality has just readied London after escaping from France. He got away from Vichy France three days after the Germans marched in. He would not say anything about his escape except that the French people had been very helpful. In fact, he added, there Was no question at all where their sympathies lay. Many of them were especially glad to hear of the British raids on Italian cities.
