Extract from N.Z. Gazette No. 103, Nov. 19, 1942, page 2767: ■■J’HE following area has been proclaimed prohibited: Harbour Board Endowment Block J and Crown Land (Recreation Reserve) Left Bank Wanganui River Block 9 Ikitara Survey District, and the foreshores adjoining the above described lands between high and low water marks and the legal roads traversing the area herein described.” The area is bounded on the North by the left bank of the Wanganui River and on the North-east by a general line from the aforesaid left bank of the Wanganui River to the cattistop on the road known as the Wanganui Airport Road and to the Kaitoke Stream; thence in a South-west-erly direction along the right bank of the said Kaitoke stream to its mouth and thence in a North-westerly direction along the foreshore to the Wanganui River and thence rollowing up the left bank of the Wanganui River and embracing all that land known as the Wanganui Airport, the Snit and Landguard Bluff. The same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Army PP 60, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters, Wellington. and thereon bordered in red.
