MAJESTIC THEATRE
“Reap the Wild Wind.” which screens at the Majestic Theatre today celebrates the thirtieth anniversary oi Cecil de Mille as a producer of films, generally good, better, and great. “Reap the Wild Wind” is one of his greatest, a spectacular story roaring along with the wind and with the u? Mille touch of the gripping and b'zarre used strongly. It is dated about 1840, when all America’s north-south trade went by sea, round Florida, through the dangers of reefs and keys in the hurricane belt, and through the 1 ands of wrecking gangs. In such a s'orv there is room for action, and de Mille has added a triangular romance—with Paulette Goddard, Ray Mi.iand. and John Payne as the principals—to give reason for still faster action. In the end the right man wins, but before that comes about the story runs through ship r scue and ship murder in raging storms, .inning in the Charleston Courts when the king wrecker almost, slips away. The film is in Technicoiour. There arc line supports and ga /ettes.
