RAID ON RAILWAY YARDS AT MANDALAY

WORK OF R.A.F. BOMBERS Rugby, Dec. 13. A joint communique from India reports that R.A.F. bombers, escorted by lighters, made a successful attack on the railway yards at Mandalay. Bombs fell on the permanent way and among rolling stock. Direct hits were scored on tiie station buildings and sheds. No enemy fighters were encountered. Another bomber formation attacked Naba railway station, 150 miles north of Mandalay, and bombs burst among rolling stock. A stationary train a mile south of Naba was attacked with good results. None of our aircraft is missing.—8.0.W.
