U.S. MARRIED NURSES MAY NOT RESIGN
(Recd. 7 p.m.) Washington, Sept. 25. The War Department announced | that Army nurses who marry would not be permitted to resign because they were married. The growing shortage of nurses and the resignation of 224 nurse brides caused the reversal of the former policy.
RUGBY, Sept. 25—The improvement and extension of fortifications on the Norwegian coast is being accelerated and Norwegian conscripts and prisoners are working hard 24 hours daily, seven days a week, according to reports reaching the Norwegian Government in London.— 8.0.W.
