MORE LANeTaVAILABLE The Wanganui Harbour Board ii agreeable to the City Council taking over a small portion of the river bank near the Dublin Street Bridge at a rental of fl a year. The land was formerly occupied by the Wanganui River Gravel Company, and will form part of the James McGregor Memorial (Kowhai Park), recently vested in the city. When this request was made by the City Council, in a letter to the board, received at the monthly meeting yesterday, the chairman, Hon. W. J. Rogers. M.L.C., who is also Mayor of Wanganui, said Kowhai Park had been made available to the city by the generosity of Mr. Hope Gibbons, ant! other public-spirited citizens. Since the gravel company had ceased operating the small area of land on the other side of the bridge had become unsightly, but the City Council proposed beautifying it.
