BELGIAN ARMY IN CONGO READY TO FIGHT
Washington, July 9. President Roosevelt to-day conferred with the Belgian Prime Min ister, M. Pierlot, wno said he hoped his countrymen would soon be fighting side by side with American troops for common victory and for the defence of independence and freedom. M. Pierlot thanked President Roosevelt for the sympathy shown to the Belgian people after the occupation, ar— said a large Belgian army in the Congo vVns completelv mobilised and ready to fight.
