ADMIRAL NIMITZ INJURED

RECENT VICTORIES RECOGNISED Washington, July 10. The Navy announced that the Distinguished Service Medal has been awarded to Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Pacific fleet, for exceptionally meritorious service in the Battles of the Coral Sea and Midway Island. A London message also says that the United States Navy Department has announced that Admiral Nimitz was slightly injured recently while travelling in a plane which crashed when landing at an American west coast port.
