AUSTRALIAN FIGURES
GROWTH OF WAR INDUSTRY Canberra, May 21. The number of workers employed in the production of munitions and military equipment all over Australia is now in the vicinity of 50,000, and will be double that number in another twelve months. These figures were provided by the Minister of Munitions, Mr. N. J. O. Makin, who stated that at the outbreak of war the number of workers making munitions did not exceed 5000.
