FUR NEWS THE PERSIAN LAMB The best known of the lamb skins used in the fur trade is the Persian Lamb, the sources of supply being Bakhara, Afghanistan, mdia, Bessabarabia, Rumania, and Sheraz, the quality of the skins varying in the loregoing order. The skins, in the natural state, are of an unattractive brown shade and have small tight curls. The skins, invariably ayed black, and made into garments, enjoy great popularity in England, America and the Continent. Great care is exercised in the making up of these skins, especially in the matching of the curls, and in the best Englisn and Continental Fur Houses, the sewing is done by hand. This process, though expensive, is justined by the results in the finished garment. Unfortunately, Persian Lamb, like all other imported furs, is not obtainable in war-time, but in our attractive showroom we have a very extensive range of 100% New Zealand fur coats that are cheaper in price than the imported article, and every bit as fashionable in appearance. We suggest, if you want a new coat this winter, that you purchase a fur from us. You’ll really be pleasantly surprised at our high quality and low prices—prices in some cases, which are very little more than you expect to pay for a tweed or woollen coat. A visit to our showrooms " does not entail any obligation to buy, and, if you wish, you can avail yourself of our lay-by service. Perhaps you already have a fur. In this event it is possible that the fur has lost its first bloom, or requires minor alterations or dying. In any event, we can conscientiously recommend our repairs department as being able to offer an unequalled service at very low . prices. This service is no further away from you than your nearest post office. Simply send your fur in to us with your instructions, and, if you wish, we will quote you before proceeding with the work. To be furred by "Blandfords” is to be fashionably furred. Another fur fact will be presented to-day week. H. H. Blandford Ltd. QUALITY FURRIERS SINCE 1917, Coleman Place - Palmerston North
