OUTPUT OF PLANES
ALLIES LEAD THE AXIS DOUBLE MONTHLY PRODUCTION New York, May 20 Mr. J. Carlton Ward, president o the Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corporation, told the National Meta Trades’ Association to-day that the following aircraft, production figure, were based on sufficient authority tc give them validity:— Germany. 2900; Italy, 700; Japan, 500. Total Axis output, 4100. United States, 3(100: Britain. 2400; Russia, 2900. Total United Nations’ output, 8600. All these figures are monthly. Mr Ward said that American plane pro duction would pass 5000 monthly ii time to make good President Roose velt’s promise of GUlli ;.':ci:es a year,
